The Great Lakes Information Node currently offers links to two data sets in ARCIMS format:
The Goodyear Fish Spawning Atlas is an internet map server created using Arc IMS that provides access to spawning site location, stocking data, and catch data for three fish species found in the Great Lakes . Additional species and data sets will be added to the atlas in the near future. The Spawning Atlas IMS shows users known historic spawning locations of several species and allows users to investigate these locations in the context of recent stocking numbers and catch rates of the same species.
The Detroit River Candidate Site for Habitat Remediation provides access to to an inventory of land use along the Detroit River shoreline. The objectives of the inventory were to: (1) locate candidate sites for protection and restoration of fish and wildlife habitat in Michigan waters of the Detroit River; (2) describe the ownership and size of each site, as well as its potential for habitat protection and restoration; and (3) subjectively assess the extent to which existing habitat along the river is productive of fish and wildlife and protected from land uses that have degraded or destroyed such habitat.
